On October 26, 2023, the DICT X–ILCDB Partner’s Summit, themed “Collaborative Synergy: Unlocking Opportunities Together,” gathered distinguished partners and advocates of digital workforce development at N Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City. At the heart of this summit was a proud moment for the College of Computer Studies (CCS) of MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology, as four of its esteemed faculty members were formally recognized for their exceptional contributions as resource persons in DICT’s Digital Workforce Training initiative.
Dr. Adrian P. Galido, Dr. Orven E. Llantos, Asst. Prof. Jerame B. Beloy, and Asst. Prof. Paul B. Bokingkito Jr. received Plaques of Appreciation, honoring their expertise, leadership, and dedication in strengthening ICT capabilities across Northern Mindanao. Their recognition underscores CCS’s pivotal role in shaping the region’s digital workforce and reinforces the college’s reputation as a leading institution for ICT training, innovation, and community engagement.
The summit opened with warm Welcome Remarks from Dir. Sittie Rahma V. Alawi, MTM, CSSGB, Regional Director of DICT Region 10. This was followed by a meaningful Message from ILCDB Director IV, Dir. Maria Teresa M. Garcia, who framed the partnership’s importance and highlighted ongoing and upcoming ILCDB programs designed to elevate digital competencies nationwide.
Participants were then given an insightful presentation from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Regional Labor Market Information, emphasizing emerging ICT opportunities, in-demand positions beginning 2023, and the evolving skillsets required in an increasingly digital economy. This segment contextualized the value of the Digital Workforce Training initiative—an effort made significantly stronger through the contributions of CCS’s recognized faculty experts.
In the afternoon session, TESDA Region 10 provided an enriching overview of technical skills development pathways and ICT-aligned qualifications. This was followed by discussions on Areas of Cooperation and Regional-Initiated Activities, which showcased collaborative initiatives that continue to drive the region’s digital transformation agenda.
One of the event’s most symbolic moments was the manifestation of commitment and support, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony that reflected the unified efforts of partner institutions in promoting inclusive digital growth and skills empowerment. The summit concluded with heartfelt Closing Remarks from Engr. Eugene Raposala III, Chief of the Technical Operations Division, who emphasized the tremendous value of collaboration between DICT, partner institutions, industry stakeholders, and academic leaders. He also highlighted the bright future of ICT and workforce development in Northern Mindanao—made possible through the continuous contributions of dedicated educators such as CCS’s very own awardees.
This recognition of CCS faculty serves not only as a testament to their individual excellence but also as a celebration of the college’s enduring commitment to digital innovation, capacity-building, and community-oriented ICT leadership across the region.
