The Tech Behind Bars project highlights the deepening collaboration between the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) in advancing the rights of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) to education, rehabilitation, and personal growth. Through a comprehensive set of programs—including capacity-building workshops, digital literacy training, vocational and technical skills development, and values formation sessions—the initiative equips PDLs with relevant, marketable, and future-ready skills.
By fostering continuous learning and personal transformation, the project opens opportunities for PDLs to pursue employment, livelihood ventures, and entrepreneurial activities once reintegrated into the community. Ultimately, Tech Behind Bars serves as a bridge toward second chances, empowering PDLs to rebuild their lives with dignity, confidence, and improved prospects for success.
